Up-to-date and specialised knowledge of the MICE market and how it functions is essential to a wide range of suppliers in our industry. I have worked with a number of MICE organisations on research and consultancy projects, to add to their understanding of challenges they face – and potential solutions to those challenges. Many of my clients are destination marketing organisations, such as convention bureaus, and here are some examples of my most recent research and consultancy projects:
For Reed Travel Exhibitions, regular surveys of the meetings and events markets in the world regions where their shows are held: IBTM in Barcelona (EIBTM Trends Watch Report), IBTM in Beijing (CIBTM MICE Buyers Report) and IBTM in Abu Dhabi (GIBTM Middle East MICE Buyers Report)
For Fáilte Ireland, the National Tourism Development Authority for Ireland: In partnership with TTC, Tourism & Transport Consult International (www.ttc.ie) a study of the opportunities for Ireland, presented by the outbound incentive travel market from Germany.
For the Polish Tourism Organisation: In partnership with Krzysztof Celuch, a survey of conference planners who organised events in Polish cities, to determine their levels of satisfaction with Poland as a destination, and to highlight potential areas for improvement in the Polish MICE offer.
